BSA STEERING STEM NUT A65
Chrome steering stem (fork top) nut for the BSA A65, secures the top yoke at the steering head.
This is a steering stem nut for the BSA A65, sometimes called the fork top nut. It threads onto the top of the steering stem at the head of the frame and clamps the top yoke down against the steering head bearings, so it's what keeps the whole front end properly tensioned and turning smoothly. The catalog shows this one finished in chrome.

Our records list this part under the alias G80 as well, so if your parts book shows that number for a steering stem nut on this bike, it's the same physical part.
This one shows up in our steering head figures for the A65, with catalog appearances running 1969 into 1970. It's not a Triumph part, despite the BSA/Triumph family resemblance in these old parts books, so don't cross it over into Triumph steering head work without checking first.
