This is the drain plug for the front forks, part number 97-2634, also listed under the older H2634 designation. It shows up in the front forks section of the parts book and does what a fork drain plug does on any bike with this style of front end: gives you a way to let the fork oil out at the bottom of the leg without pulling the whole assembly apart.
