Middle lug and stem
Middle lug and stem for the telescopic front fork, the steering-stem lug tying together the fork legs on certain Triumph twins.
This is the middle lug and stem for the telescopic front fork, the part that carries the steering stem down through the top of the fork assembly and ties the two fork legs together in the middle. In the parts books it shows up under the older reference H2278 as well as the current number 97-2278, so if you're working from an early parts list and see H2278, that's the same physical piece.

It appears in the fork figures for the T90, T100S, T100T, TR6R, and T120R telescopic front ends. If you're rebuilding a fork assembly and this lug or the stem itself is bent, cracked, or the threads are worn, it's worth replacing rather than trying to true it up, since it's a structural piece that sees steering loads every time the bike is ridden.
We don't have extensive detail on this one beyond its place in those fork figures, so if you're not certain your fork stack matches what's shown there, give us a call and we'll help confirm before you order.
