Brake cable retainer

A clip that guides and retains the front brake cable along the mudguard on Triumph machines.

PN · 97-2270

This is a small clip that holds the front brake cable in place as it runs along the front mudguard, keeping the cable from flapping around or fouling the tire or fork. It shows up in the parts books under the MUDGUARDS and FRONT MUDGUARDS figures as well as STEERING HEAD and FRONT FORK listings, so it's tied into the general front-end cable routing rather than any one bracket. The older alias for this part is H2270 if you're working from an earlier parts book.

It's a simple guide clip, nothing structural, but a missing or broken one lets the cable wander and rub where it shouldn't. Cheap to keep a spare of when you're going through the front end anyway. Catalog appearances put it across several years in the late 60s into the early 70s, so check your own parts book plate to be sure it matches what you're pulling off.
