DOME NUT, 5/16X26 POLISHED STAINLESS
Polished stainless 5/16x26 dome nut for the gearbox outer cover and primary chaincase cover.
This is the dome nut Triumph used on the primary chaincase cover and the gearbox outer cover, 5/16x26 thread, finished in polished stainless. It's the acorn-shaped fastener you see capping the studs on both covers, and because it sits right out in the open, it's one of those small parts that people notice if it's rusty or mismatched.

Our catalog shows it appearing across chaincase and gearbox outer cover listings from the mid-to-late 1960s. The older book reference for this one is H1531, so if you're working from an early parts list that's the number you'll see instead of 97-1531 — same nut.
Worth keeping a few of these on hand since they're small and easy to lose track of when you're pulling covers for service work.
