Sleeve, handlebar mounting
Sleeve that fits inside the handlebar mounting clamp to properly seat a 7/8 in. handlebar.
97-1425 is the sleeve that sits inside the handlebar mounting clamp, taking up the gap between the clamp bore and a 7/8 in. handlebar. It shows up across a long stretch of catalog years and appears in more than one figure, which tells you this is a common wear-and-fit item rather than something specific to one model or one year. The older book number for this one is H1425, so if you're working from an early parts list that's the number you'll see instead of 97-1425.
These are small parts and it's normal to need more than one per bar, so check what you've got on the bike before ordering just one. If your bars are loose in the clamps or you're rebuilding the top of the forks, this is worth having on hand.
