Cap bolt
Fork axle cap bolt (97-1070/H1070), 5/16 in. 26 TPI CEI thread, fitted at the bottom of Triumph telescopic fork legs.
This is the cap bolt that sits at the bottom of the front fork leg, on the axle end, part number 97-1070 (the older parts books list it as H1070). It shows up across a wide run of telescopic fork figures — 6T, TR6, T120, T90, T100 and 3TA/5TA fork drawings all call for it, which tells you this bolt was a common fitment across Triumph's telescopic fork lineup through the 1960s.

The cap bolt closes off the end of the fork leg where the wheel axle passes through, keeping things sealed up and the axle assembly located. It's a small, easy-to-overlook part, but a stripped or rusted-out cap bolt at the bottom of the fork leg is one of those things that turns a simple job into a headache.
It's a 5/16 in. 26 TPI CEI thread bolt made in England. Worth keeping a spare or two in a drawer since it's a part that tends to get chewed up over the years from repeated wrench work at the axle.
