BRAKE TORQUE STAY

A brake torque stay, part number 83-7534, that anchors the brake backplate so it can't rotate under braking.

PN · 83-7534

This is a brake torque stay, part number 83-7534. The torque stay is the small bracket that anchors the brake backplate to the fork or frame so the backplate can't rotate when the brake is applied. It's a simple but important link in the braking system - without it, the drum brake's backplate would just spin along with the wheel under braking load instead of doing its job.

We don't have a lot of extra detail on file for this particular listing, so if you're ordering, give us the frame or fork details for your bike and we'll confirm it's the right stay before it goes out the door.

As always with brackets like this, check that the mounting holes and stay length line up with what's currently on your bike before you swap it in.
