Centre fixing bolt
Centre fixing bolt for the petrol tank, securing it to the frame at the tank's mounting point.
This is the centre fixing bolt for the petrol tank, the fastener that runs through the middle of the tank and anchors it down to the frame. It shows up across the gas tank figures in the parts books, including both the 2.8 gallon and 4 gallon tank listings, so it's a common wear-and-tear item that riders end up replacing when the original gets buggered up or goes missing.

It's a small part but an important one — a loose or stripped centre fixing bolt lets the tank shift around on its mounts, which nobody wants happening while riding. If you're pulling the tank for paint or any other work, it's worth checking the condition of this bolt before you put everything back together.
Our records show this one appearing across gas tank figures spanning 1974 into 1985. If you're not sure which fixing hardware your tank uses, bring in the old bolt or give us a call before ordering.
