Rubber beading strip

Rubber beading strip that seals the tail lamp housing edge on the rear fender.

PN · 83-3213

This is the rubber beading strip that runs around the tail lamp housing on the fender, sealing the edge where the lamp assembly meets the fender metal. It shows up in the fenders and tail lamp section of the parts books, and the catalog dates it to the early '70s. The older parts-book number for this same piece is F13213, if that's what you find printed in your book.

Beading like this dries out and cracks over the decades, letting water and grit work in around the lamp housing edge, so it's a common thing to replace when you're refreshing a rear fender or sorting out a tail lamp that's not sealing up right anymore.
