UK PETCOCK NO STAND PIPE (RESERVE TAP) - Chrome Plated Brass Body
Chrome-plated brass reserve fuel tap (no standpipe) for the gas tank, UK-made.
This is the reserve petcock, the fuel tap without the standpipe inside it, so it draws from the very bottom of the tank once your main supply runs low. It's a chrome plated brass body, made in the UK, and shows up in the parts books under the GAS TANK and GAS TANKS AND TWINSEAT figures across catalog entries running 1971 to 1974. The alias F12801 is the older reference for the same part, and 83-2800 is its running mate, the main petcock that mounts alongside it on the other side of the tank.

Because it has no standpipe, this tap pulls fuel regardless of how low the level is in the tank, which is the whole point of a reserve valve. It threads into the tank the same way the main petcock does, and the castings on these are generally well made, worth a look if you're rebuilding rather than replacing outright.
If you're ordering just one side, make sure you know which position you need. The main and reserve taps are different parts even though they look similar from a distance, and this listing is specifically the reserve, no-standpipe version.
