Grommet
A rubber grommet used in the air cleaner/battery carrier assembly on certain Triumph triples.
This is a rubber grommet used on the air cleaner setup, tucked in with the battery carrier and air filter assembly. It appears in the parts book under figure titles for the battery carrier and air cleaner, and its job is to make a soft, sealed connection point in that housing rather than a hard metal-to-metal joint that can crack or rattle loose over time.

The part shows up under a couple of alternate numbers in older books, including the F9562 form and 43-99763, so if you're working from an older parts list and one of those numbers is what's printed there, this is the same physical piece. Our catalog record spans appearances from 1969 through 1974, which tells you it stuck around across several years of production without a design change noted in our records.
It's a simple rubber part but one that's easy to overlook until it's cracked, hardened, or missing, at which point you can get an air leak or a loose fit in the air cleaner assembly. Worth checking the condition of yours when you're in there working on the carbs or air filter.
