Wiring grommet
A wiring grommet (82-9028 / F9028) that seals a harness pass-through on the fender, protecting the wiring from chafing on bare metal.
This is a wiring grommet, catalog number 82-9028, also listed under the older F9028 designation. It turns up in the FENDERS figures in the parts books, which puts it where a wiring harness passes through sheet metal on the fender - the grommet's job is to seal that hole and keep the wire loom from chafing against a raw edge of metal every time the bike hits a bump.

Our records only show it appearing a couple of times across catalog entries from 1968 through 1970, so we don't have a lot of extra detail to pass along beyond what the figure title tells us. If you're chasing down a wiring grommet for fender-mounted wiring on a bike from that era, this is worth checking against your parts book, but confirm the exact application with us before you order.
