The 82-8139 is the tail lamp adaptor that mounts the tail light assembly and holds the rear reflectors up under the back of the fender. It shows up in the catalog under the MUDGUARDS and FENDERS figures, and if your parts book is the older style you may see it listed as F8139, which is the same piece under its earlier number.

This is the bracket the tail lamp bolts to rather than the lamp itself, so if you're chasing a wobbly or cracked tail light, check this piece before you assume the lamp body is at fault. It appears across catalog listings running 1968 to 1970.
If you're replacing one, take a look at the fender it bolts to as well, since a bent or rusted-through mounting point will make even a good adaptor sit crooked.
