Left distance piece

Left-side swinging fork distance piece/spacer, later superseded by 83-0037.

PN · 82-7344
Superseded by 83-0037.

82-7344 is a left-side distance piece that fits into the swinging fork assembly, keeping the pivot components properly spaced on that side of the bike. It shows up in the parts books under the SWINGING FORK and SUSPENSION UNITS AND CHAINGUARD figures, which puts it right where the swinging arm pivots on the frame.

The catalog record on this one runs from 1967 to 1968, and later on the factory replaced it with part number 83-0037 — if you're working from a later parts book or a bike that's had updated parts fitted over the years, that's the number you may find instead. The dimensional alias listed alongside it (.877 x 1.187 x .437) is just the shop's own way of noting the size of the piece, not something we're stating as verified spec here.

If you're rebuilding the swingarm pivot and need this spacer, it's a small part but it matters for keeping things aligned side to side, so make sure you're ordering the correct side — this is the left-hand distance piece, not the right.
