Rubber bush Battery carrier mounting

Rubber mounting bush for the battery carrier and oil tank on Triumph twins, cushioning the tray against the frame.

PN · 82-6039

This is a rubber mounting bush used where the battery carrier and oil tank fasten to the frame. It's a small, simple piece of rubber whose job is to cushion the metal carrier against the frame rails so vibration doesn't crack the tray or work the mounting bolts loose over time.

The part shows up across a long run of catalog years and appears in figures covering the oil tank, battery, and electrical component areas, which tells you it's used in more than one mounting spot under the seat and around the oil tank. It's also known under the older 97-0380 and letter-prefix F6039/H380 numbers, so if you're working from an older parts book you may see it listed that way.

These bushes are cheap insurance to have on hand since they perish with age same as any rubber part, and a split or crushed bush lets the carrier or tank rattle around. Given how many places it turns up in the parts books, it's worth checking exactly which mounting point you're replacing before ordering, since the fit can vary by location on the bike.
