KNEE PAD SCREW
The screw that secures the knee pad to a Triumph petrol tank, catalog numbers 82-1953 (formerly 24-7178).
This is the small screw that holds the knee pad (also called the knee grip) to the side of the petrol tank on older Triumph twins. The catalog lists it under the petrol tank figures, and it's a straightforward fastener rather than anything structural - it just keeps the rubber or plastic knee pad seated against the tank panel.

The current number is 82-1953, and the older factory number for the same part was 24-7178, so if your parts book or a spare parts bin turns up either number, you're looking at the same screw. Catalog appearances for this one run from 1960 to 1965.
These are easy to lose or strip out over the years, especially if someone's gone in with the wrong screwdriver, so it's worth checking the condition of the threads and the pad itself before ordering a handful of replacements.
