BSA Screw, inspection cover (2 British Association × 7/16")
2 BA x 7/16 inch screw for the primary chaincase inspection cover, 1969-1972 catalog appearances.
This is the small screw that holds the inspection cover on the primary chaincase, part number 76-4116. It's a 2 BA thread, 7/16 inch, the size used through the clutch and primary cover figures in the parts books from 1969 through 1972.

The inspection cover itself is that little plate on the primary chaincase you pop off to check chain tension or slack without pulling the whole cover. This screw is what keeps it snug against the case and keeps oil from weeping out around the edges.
It's a cheap part to lose and easy to strip if someone's gone at it with the wrong screwdriver over the years, so if yours is buggered up or missing, this is the one to replace it with. Appears across several clutch and primary cover figures in our records, all in that 1969-1972 span.
