Hollow dowel, crankcase joint
Hollow locating dowel for the crankcase joint, part number 71-3769.
This is the hollow dowel that locates the crankcase halves at the joint, part number 71-3769. It's a small piece but it does real work — keeping the two crankcase castings aligned to each other so the bearing bores and mating faces stay true when the case bolts are torqued down.

The catalog shows this dowel in the crankcase figure with a single appearance dated to 1978. We don't have more detail on this one beyond that, so if you're rebuilding a set of cases, check the dowel holes against what you pull out before ordering a replacement.
It's a simple item, but a worn or damaged dowel can let the case halves shift slightly, so it's worth inspecting whenever the crankcase is split.
We've never carried this one. Tell us what you're after and we'll go looking — you'll get a price and photos before you commit to anything.
