BSA Shim — crankshaft (·003")
A .003 inch crankshaft shim for the BSA A70, built on the A65 Lightning base.
This is a crankshaft shim listed at .003 inch, coming out of the A70 model figure where the book notes that aside from a handful of listed items, the rest of the machine follows the A65 Lightning. That's BSA territory, not Triumph, so if you're cross-shopping this against a Triumph twin you're in the wrong parts book.

Shims like this get used to set up clearances in the crankshaft assembly during a rebuild. The catalog only shows this one appearing once, tied to that one model year, so we don't have a broader run of history on it to lean on.
If you're rebuilding a BSA A70 or working off an A65 Lightning parts list and need to true up your crank clearances, this is the part to ask about — just confirm with the shop that .003 inch is the thickness you need before you order, since shims commonly come in a few different thicknesses and we only have this one on record.
We've never carried this one. Tell us what you're after and we'll go looking — you'll get a price and photos before you commit to anything.
