Screw – oil pump to crankcase (2 B.A. X 2 1/2")
placeholder
71-0003 is the screw that fastens the oil pump to the crankcase, per Triumph's own parts book listing. It's a 2 B.A. screw, 2 1/2 inches long, and it shows up in the parts books for the oil pump release valve/filter area as well as the inner primary cover oil pump listing. The older reference for the same fastener is E10003, so if you're working from an early book and see that number, it's this screw.

This one holds the oil pump body down against the crankcase mating face, so it's a fastener you want in good shape - stripped threads or a screw that's rounded off on the head make pulling the pump for service a headache. The catalog data spans appearances from 1969 through 1974 across several rows, so it's a part Triumph used for a good run of years, though we don't have a specific model tied to it beyond that.
If you're rebuilding the oil pump or just replacing an oil-soaked or corroded original, this is the correct screw to order. Worth grabbing a couple if you're pulling the pump apart anyway - cheap insurance against dropping one in the sump.
