CRANKCASE DRIVE SIDE

Drive side crankcase half for the engine bottom end, also listed as E9748 in older parts books.

PN · 70-9748

70-9748 is the drive side crankcase half, the casting that houses the bottom end on the drive side of the engine. It's one of the two major castings that bolt together to form the crankcase assembly, carrying the mains and forming half of the sealed enclosure around the crank and timing gear. In the older parts books this same casting was listed under E9748, so if you're working from an earlier reference and see that number, it's the same part.

This one shows up in our records tied to 1969, and it comes out of the CRANKCASE figure in the parts book, so beyond that we're going by what the catalog entry actually says. A crankcase half is a big-ticket item to get wrong, so if you're not certain this matches what's currently in your engine, give us a call before you order and we'll go over the specifics with you.
