BILLET AL SUMP PLUG 500 TRIUMPH LATE 16TPI 1969-On - With Magnetic Drain (Use 70-1564M for Early)
Billet aluminum magnetic sump plug for the 500cc Triumph twin, late 16 TPI thread, 1969-on.
This is a billet aluminum sump plug built for the 500cc Triumph twin, the later 16 TPI thread version that came in from 1969 on. It threads into the bottom of the crankcase where the engine oil drains out, and it carries a magnetic drain feature to catch fine metal particles before they can recirculate through the oil system. If you're working on an earlier engine with the earlier thread pitch, this one isn't your part - the listing points you to 70-1564M instead for the early version.

Because this is billet aluminum rather than the original steel-and-magnet arrangement some of these bikes left the factory with, it's a solid piece to have on hand at oil change time, especially if you like being able to see what's collecting on the magnet. Just double check which thread pitch your case actually has before ordering, since Triumph changed this over across the years covered here.
We don't have a lot more detail on file for this one beyond what's in the description, so if you're not sure whether your 500 twin takes the late or early plug, give us a call and we'll help you sort it out before you order.
