Feed plunger
The oil pump feed plunger that pushes oil from the tank into the engine's bearings.
The feed plunger, part number 70-9269, is one of the two reciprocating plungers inside the Triumph oil pump. It's the half that pushes oil out from the tank to the engine's bearings and running gear, working opposite the scavenge side which pulls oil back out of the sump. The pump housing carries both plungers side by side, driven off a worm gear from the timed side of the engine.

This part shows up in the parts books under the OIL PUMP AND RELEASE VALVE figures, and also in the combined OIL PUMP, RELEASE VALVE, MANIFOLD AND TAPPETS figure, which tells you it's grouped with the rest of the pump internals rather than sold as some standalone accessory. The older parts book number for this same plunger is E9269, so if you're working from an early book and see that reference, it's the same physical piece.
Our catalog record has this appearing across a long production run, 1970 through 1983, so it's a part that stuck around largely unchanged through several years of unit-twin production. If a pump is worn or scored, feed and scavenge plungers are usually looked at together rather than replacing just the one, but check the actual bore and plunger wear before assuming you need both.
