Scavenge gear—driven
Driven scavenge gear for the crankcase oil scavenge drive, PN 70-8097 (E8097).
This is the driven scavenge gear, part number 70-8097 (also shown in older parts books as E8097), from the crankcase area of the engine. It's part of the oil scavenge drive that pulls oil back out of the crankcase and returns it to the tank as part of the dry-sump lubrication setup used on these engines.

The catalog places this in the crankcase figure, so it lives down in the bottom end where the scavenge pump gear train is fitted. Catalog appearances for this part run from 1968 to 1970, though our records don't spell out which specific model or models it was fitted to beyond that.
If you're rebuilding a bottom end and matching up scavenge gears, check the physical part against what's on your bench before ordering — gear teeth count and mating parts need to line up, and we don't have enough detail here to promise fitment beyond the years shown in the catalog.
We've never carried this one. Tell us what you're after and we'll go looking — you'll get a price and photos before you commit to anything.
Sorry if we got something wrong here. If you think this information isn't correct, .
