Oil control ring

An oil control ring for the piston/cylinder assembly on the engine bottom end, listed in the CYLINDER AND CRANKSHAFT figure.

PN · 70-8050

70-8050 is an oil control ring, part of the piston ring set on the engine bottom end shown in the CYLINDER AND CRANKSHAFT figure of the parts book. The oil control ring's job is to scrape excess oil off the cylinder wall on the downstroke and return it to the sump, so the top rings aren't fighting a film of oil they don't need. This one shows up in the catalog under its later number 70-8050, with the earlier form E8050 listed as the same part.

Our catalog record only ties this to one model year appearance, so we don't have a wide fitment history to point to. If you're rebuilding a top end and matching ring sizes, bring in your bore spec or give us a call so we can confirm this is the right ring for what you're working on.
