Connecting rod bolt

Connecting rod bolt for the 650 engine's big-end cap, UNF thread, also cataloged as B199 or E6576.

PN · 70-6576
Available in 2 versions:

This is the connecting rod bolt, the fastener that clamps the big-end cap to the connecting rod down in the bottom half of the engine. It lives in the crankshaft and connecting rod assembly, one of the parts holding the rod together around the crank journal, so it's carrying load every time the engine turns over.

The part number 70-6576 also shows up under the older B199 and E6576 forms if you're cross-checking against an older parts book. Catalog records place it in 650 engines with a UNF thread. It's a small part but it's structural — this isn't something to reuse without inspecting it, and given what it does, most builders replace the full set of rod bolts together rather than mixing old and new.

Our catalog entries for this one span 1970 into 1971. If you're rebuilding a bottom end, check the rod and cap you have against what the parts book calls for before ordering, since rod bolts vary by application even within the Triumph twin family.
