CLIP,PRIMARY OIL TUBE
Retaining clip for the primary chain oiler tube in the crankcase/chaincase area, PN 70-4705.
This is the clip that holds the primary chain oiler tube in place, part number 70-4705, also found in older parts books under E4705 or C404BA. It shows up in the crankcase and chaincase-and-chains sections of the catalog, which tells you it's doing its job right where the oil feed tube runs down into the primary chaincase area.

The oiler tube itself feeds lubrication to the primary chain, and this little clip is what keeps that tube from rattling loose or working its way out of position over time. It's a small, inexpensive item but if it goes missing the tube can shift or vibrate free, and then you're not getting oil where it needs to go.
Catalog listings for this clip span a wide range of years, so if you're not sure whether the one you've got matches what your bike needs, bring in your old part or give us a call before ordering. Cheap to replace and easy to overlook until it's not there.
