Inlet rocker cover

Inlet-side rocker cover for the cylinder head, also listed under the older E4648 part number.

PN · 70-4648

This is the inlet rocker cover, sitting on the cylinder head over the inlet-side rockers. It's part of the top-end valve gear, keeping oil in and dirt out around the rocker arms on that side of the head. The catalog also lists it under the older E4648 form, so if your parts book shows that number it's the same physical piece.

It shows up in the CYLINDER BARREL AND HEAD section of the parts books, appearing across catalog entries from 1963 to 1964. Beyond that we don't have more detail on it in our records, so if you're matching this to a specific head casting, bring in your old cover or give us a call before ordering.

As with any rocker cover, check your gasket and the cover's mating surface for flatness when you swap it - a warped or dinged cover is a common source of top-end oil seepage.
