Bolt (2 1/2 in. U.H.)
Crankcase bolt, 2 1/2 in. under the head, used on the bottom end of unit-construction Triumph twins.
This is a crankcase bolt, 2 1/2 inches under the head, used to hold the crankcase halves together on the bottom end of the engine. The catalog lists it under the CRANKCASE figure, and it also carries the alternate numbers 9998-408 and E4541, which is the older form of the same part if you're working from an earlier parts book.

It shows up across catalog entries spanning 1964 to 1967, so it was in use on unit-construction Triumph twins through that stretch. Crankcase bolts like this one see engine heat and vibration for years on end, and threads can get tired or buggered up on high-mileage or oft-rebuilt cases, so it's a common item to replace as a set when a crankcase gets split for a rebuild.
If you're not sure this is the exact bolt your crankcase calls for, bring in your old one or give the shop a call before ordering — crankcase bolt lengths and positions vary and it pays to match up the one you're pulling.
