CRANK PLUG HEX TYPE 650
Hex-drive plug that seals the sludge trap tube in a Triumph 650 crankshaft, easier to remove than the original slotted type.
This is the hex-drive plug that seals the sludge trap tube in the crankshaft on Triumph 650 twins. The crank carries a removable tube inside it that catches debris flung out by centrifugal force as oil moves through, and this plug closes off the end of that tube so oil pressure stays where it belongs.

The original factory plug used a slotted head, which meant reaching for an impact driver to get it out - and more often than not that beat up the slot so badly the plug was junk after one removal. This hex-type version takes a hex socket or Allen key instead, so you can get it in and out cleanly whenever you're servicing the sludge trap.
Catalog listings carry this under 70-3905H as well as plain 70-3905, same physical part. If you're pulling the crank apart for a rebuild or just cleaning out the sludge trap, this is the plug to have on hand rather than fighting with a worn-out slotted original.
