Taper compression ring
A taper-faced compression ring for Triumph engines, listed under both 70-3690 and the older E3690 part number.
This is a taper compression ring listed under Triumph's crankshaft and connecting rods figure, and it shows up in the parts books under the legacy number E3690 as well as the current 70-3690. Compression rings of this type seal the piston against the cylinder wall to keep combustion pressure up top where it belongs and out of the crankcase.

Our catalog record ties this one to appearances spanning 1964 through 1966, but we don't have enough detail here to pin it to a specific model or engine size, so check it against your piston and bore before ordering.
If you're rebuilding a top end from this era, it's worth pulling your old rings and comparing profiles before assuming this is a straight swap - ring sets can vary by bore and by year even within the same general engine family.
Sorry if we got something wrong here. If you think this information isn't correct, .
