This is the stud that holds the inlet manifold onto the cylinder head on pre-unit Triumph twins, the T100 family and related models covered in the same parts book figures. It's a simple threaded stud, one of a set, that goes into the head casting and lets the manifold be clamped down with a nut and washer once the carburetor is fitted up.
