Cylinder head bolt (for torque stay)
Cylinder head bolt for the torque stay on Triumph unit 650 engines, catalog number 70-1596A (alias E1596A).
This is a cylinder head bolt used with the torque stay bracket on the Triumph unit-construction engine, sold under 70-1596A with the earlier E1596A number appearing in older parts books for the same physical part. It shows up in the CYLINDER BLOCK AND HEAD figures for the T110, TR6, T120, TR6R, TR6C, and T120R, so it's a head fastener that also anchors the torque stay to the top of the motor rather than a plain head bolt.

When you're pulling a head on one of these engines, torque stay bolts get overlooked because they look like the rest of the head bolts at a glance, but this one has the extra job of clamping the stay bracket in place. Worth checking the length and condition against what's coming off the bike before you reuse an old one, since head bolts take heat cycles and thread wear over the years.
Catalog coverage runs across model years from 1960 to 1970 based on the figures it appears in. If you're not sure whether your particular head casting and stay setup takes this length versus another, give us a call and we'll sort it out before you order.
