BSA Lockwasher — revolution counter adaptor bolt
Lockwasher for the revolution counter (tach drive) adaptor bolt on the inner timing cover.
This is a lockwasher used with the bolt that secures the revolution counter (tachometer drive) adaptor down on the timing cover area. It's a small tab-type washer whose job is to keep that adaptor bolt from working loose once it's tightened down.

In the catalog it shows up under the INNER TIMING COVER and GEARCHANGE MECHANISM figures, which is where the tach drive adaptor lives on these engines. It's a cheap part to replace any time you have that cover off and the adaptor bolt out, rather than reusing a tired washer that's lost its bite.
Catalog appearances for this one run from 1969 to 1972. If you're not sure your bike matches up, give the shop a call and we'll confirm before you order.
