A shim retaining cup used in the crankshaft assembly to hold bearing shims in place.

This is a shim retaining cup that lives down in the crankshaft area of the engine. It appears in the crankshaft and crankshaft/pistons sections of the parts book, where it works alongside the shims used to set up bearing clearance on the crank. The alternate form 68-638 is the same part, just written without the leading zero.
