BSA Scavenge cover gasket, crankcase
Scavenge cover gasket for a BSA crankcase, sealing the cover in the oil pump and gearbox sprocket area.
This is a gasket for the scavenge cover on a BSA crankcase, not a Triumph part despite what the internal manufacturer tag might suggest. The catalog places it right in the oil pump and gearbox sprocket area, sealing the cover that lets the oil pump draw return oil back out of the sump area to send it back to the tank.

It shows up across catalog listings from 1969 to 1970, and other catalog listings tie the same part number to a range of BSA twins and singles including the A7, A10, A50, A65, B25, and B44 families, along with two related gasket part numbers, 70-8070 and 71-1424. If you're rebuilding a scavenge or sump filter assembly on one of these, this is worth having on hand along with the other gaskets in that stack, since they tend to get replaced together.
We don't have extensive notes on this one beyond its place in the crankcase and oil pump figures. If you're not sure this is the exact gasket your engine needs, give us a call and we'll help confirm before you order.
