BSA Gudgeon pin
A gudgeon pin (piston pin) connecting the piston to the connecting rod small end.
This is a gudgeon pin, the pin that runs through the piston bosses and the small end of the connecting rod, letting the rod pivot as the piston moves up and down. It's a bottom-end piston part, showing up in the crankshaft and piston sections of the parts books rather than anywhere in the cylinder head or valve gear.

The catalog record has it listed under 65-0440, with 65-440 as the same part number in the older short form. Our records show it appearing across a handful of catalog entries in the years right around the turn of the 1970s, but we don't have it tied to a specific model here, so if you're matching this to a particular engine, bring us your piston or the old pin so we can confirm it lines up.
A gudgeon pin is a wear item worth checking whenever a piston comes out for inspection — if the bore in the piston boss or the small end bushing shows play, the pin is the first thing to measure. Give us a call and we'll help sort out fitment before you order.
We've never carried this one. Tell us what you're after and we'll go looking — you'll get a price and photos before you commit to anything.
