WASHER,3/16 SHAKEPROOF - Replaces GS299
A 3/16 inch shakeproof washer used under screws and terminal nuts in several spots on the bike to stop hardware from vibrating loose.
This is the small 3/16 inch shakeproof washer, part number 60-4256, that Triumph used in a handful of spots to keep hardware from working loose under vibration. It shows up in the parts books under the timing cover and contact breaker figure, the ignition coils/horn/rectifier/zener diode figure, and the handlebar and control levers figure, so you'll find it doing the same basic job in a few different places on the bike - under points cover screws, under terminal connector nuts on coils, and on nacelle hardware.

It replaces the older factory number GS299, so if your parts book or an old invoice lists GS299 or 188330, this is the current number for the same washer.
It's a small, inexpensive item, but it's the kind of thing that's easy to lose track of when you've got the timing cover off or you're working on the coils and electrics up front. Worth keeping a few spares in the drawer since they tend to walk off during a teardown.
