FORK TOP NUT SPANNER 1 1/2 and 1 5/16 AF
A double-ended box spanner sized 1 1/2 inch and 1 5/16 inch for removing and installing fork top nuts.
This is the fork top nut spanner, a double-ended box wrench sized to fit the big nuts at the top of the fork legs. One end opens to 1 1/2 inch, the other to 1 5/16 inch, so it covers both common fork top nut sizes without needing two separate tools. It's listed under the toolkit heading in the parts book, which is where Triumph put the special tools riders and mechanics needed to service the front end without chewing up the nut flats with an adjustable wrench.

The part also shows up in older records under the numbers D779 and P259F, so if you're working from an earlier parts book or a box of NOS tools stamped with one of those, it's the same physical spanner. The catalog entry we have for it comes from a single appearance tied to 1969, though a tool like this tends to outlive any one model year on the shelf.
If you're pulling fork caps and don't want to mark up the nuts with pliers or a pipe wrench, this is the correct tool for the job. Worth having in the box if you're doing your own fork work on a regular basis.
