Air valve guide
Amal air valve guide (6/047), locates the slide inside 6T, T110, and TR6 carburetors.
This is the air valve guide from an Amal carburetor, part number 6/047. It shows up in the parts books for the 6T, T110, and TR6 carburetor figures, so it's an Amal-made internal component rather than anything Triumph cast or machined in-house.

The air valve guide is the small piece that locates and directs the slide (also called the air valve or choke slide) as it moves up and down inside the carb body. Keep it in mind when you're chasing a sticking or sloppy slide action, worn air passages, or a carb that won't hold a clean idle — a worn guide lets the slide sit off-center and messes with metering.
Our catalog record ties this to the 6T, T110, and TR6 Amal carburetor setups across the early '60s appearances on file. If you're rebuilding one of these carbs, check the guide against the rest of your slide assembly before you order — wear here is easy to miss until the slide starts binding.
