This is a gearbox sprocket, 17 tooth, for the 5-speed Triumph gearboxes used from 1972 on. It mounts on the gearbox mainshaft and carries the final drive chain out to the rear wheel sprocket, so it's one half of the final drive ratio equation along with whatever's fitted at the back.
