GEARBOX OUTER COVER
Gearbox outer cover for the gearbox shell, PN 57-3628 (also listed as T3628).
This is the gearbox outer cover, the plate that bolts onto the outside of the gearbox shell and closes it up, keeping the internals sealed and the oil where it belongs. It's the panel you see facing outward on the right side of the case, and it's what you take off when you need to get into the kickstart mechanism, selector components, or the mainshaft/layshaft assemblies inside.

The catalog lists this one under 57-3628, with T3628 as the earlier legacy number for the same physical piece. Our record only ties it to a single catalog entry from 1968, so if you're working on something outside that year, check the cover you've got against this one before ordering — gearbox shells and covers changed over the years and you want to match what's actually on the bike.
Give it a look for cracks or stripped threads around the mounting holes before you bolt it back on, and make sure the gasket surface is clean and flat so it seals properly against the case.
