LOCK TAB WASHER 650 TRIUMPH GEARBOX SPROCKET NUT 1964-72 - 4 Speed

Lock tab washer for the gearbox sprocket nut on 650 Triumph four-speed gearboxes.

PN · 57-2116

This is the lock tab washer that sits under the gearbox sprocket nut on the 650 Triumph four-speed gearbox. It's a small piece but it does an important job — once the sprocket nut is torqued down, the tabs on this washer bend over to keep that nut from working loose as the gearbox mainshaft spins under load. Lose this washer's grip and you risk the sprocket nut backing off over time.

It shows up in the parts books under the GEARBOX SHAFTS AND GEARS and GEARBOX INNER COVER AND SELECTORS figures, which is right where you'd expect it, tucked in behind the sprocket on the mainshaft end. Catalog records place it across 650 Triumph four-speed gearboxes from the mid-60s into the early 70s.

You'll also see it under the old book number T2116 or the works number WW26108 — all three point to the same physical part. Since the tabs get bent to lock the nut, this isn't something you want to reuse once it's been folded over; keep a fresh one on hand whenever you're into the gearbox for sprocket or mainshaft work.
