SPRING WINDER PLATE,KICK START TRIUMPH 500

Kickstart return spring stop plate for the Triumph 500 unit gearbox, PN 57-1422 (formerly T1422).

PN · 57-1422

This is the kickstart spring winder plate off the Triumph 500 gearbox, listed in the parts book under the GEARBOX SHAFTS, BEARINGS AND INNER COVER section. It's a small stop plate that sits with the kickstart return spring, holding the spring's tension so the lever snaps back up after you swing it through.

Our records show this one on the shelf as PN 57-1422, with the earlier T1422 stamp being the same part under the old letter-prefix numbering. The catalog data we've got on it points to unit-construction 500 twins from the late '60s, though we'd want to confirm exact fitment against your own parts book before you order.

It's a simple stamped plate rather than anything glamorous, but if it's worn or bent your kickstart won't hold its spring tension right and the lever can feel sloppy or fail to return properly. Worth a look if you're already in the gearbox cover for other reasons.
