SOCKET IGNITION SWITCH
The socket that the Lucas ignition switch pins plug into, mounted in the headlamp nacelle.
This is the socket that the ignition switch pins plug into, part of the switch assembly mounted in the headlamp nacelle. It's the electrical connector piece behind the ignition switch itself, wired into the harness so the switch can make and break contact when you turn the key. Catalog listings show it under the figure for the nacelle headlamp and switches, alongside the lighting switch and its own socket.

Over time these sockets crack or the contacts wear out, which is usually what brings someone in looking for a replacement rather than a whole new switch. The old legacy reference for this one is MC908, so if you're working from an older parts book or a switch that's been in the bike a long time, that's the number you may see stamped or listed instead of 54930008.
This one shows up in our catalog entries spanning the mid 1960s. If you're not sure whether your nacelle uses this socket or a different one, bring in the old part or give us a call before ordering.
