This is a screwed plug that seals the oil feed on the mainshaft, part number 53-3049. It shows up in the gearbox parts books under the GEAR CLUSTER and FOOTSTART AND FOOTCHANGE figures, which tells us it lives down in the gearbox area where the mainshaft oil feed passage needs to be plugged off.
