MAGDYNO DYNO STRAP
Securing strap that clamps a Lucas-type magneto or magdyno unit down onto its mounting bracket.
This is the securing strap that holds a magdyno or magneto down on its mounting platform. On the older pre-unit machines that ran a combined magneto/dynamo unit, this strap wraps over the top of the housing and clamps it in place against the mounting bracket, with trunnions and bolts doing the actual holding work. Without a solid strap the whole magdyno can shift or rock on its mount, which throws off ignition timing and drive alignment. This part shows up under the older alias PN 298 as well as its current number 460056, so if your parts book lists 298 you are looking at the same physical strap. We do not have much more detail on file for this one beyond that it is a mounting strap for Lucas-type magneto and magdyno units used across several British marques of the era. Call the shop if you want us to confirm it is the right strap for your particular mounting setup before you order.
