LAYSHAFT BEARING BSA OPEN
Open-ended layshaft needle roller bearing for the BSA gearbox, part number 42-3075.
This is the open-ended layshaft needle roller bearing for the BSA gearbox, part number 42-3075. It's a BSA piece, not a Triumph one, despite whatever label got put on it in some listings — the catalog description is plain about it being for BSA gearboxes, and that's how it should be described.

The layshaft is the intermediate shaft inside the gearbox that the gears ride on between the mainshaft and the output, and this needle bearing supports that shaft where it runs open-ended in the case. It's a small part but an important one for keeping the layshaft running true and quiet in the box.
We don't have much catalog history logged on this one beyond the basic listing, so if you're not sure this is the right bearing for your particular gearbox casing, give us a call before you order and we'll sort out the fitment with you.
