BSA Grommet, contact breaker cable
A rubber grommet that protects the contact breaker cable where it passes through a case or cover.
This is a grommet that seats around the contact breaker cable, keeping the wire protected where it passes through a hole in the case or cover. It's a small rubber part but it does real work, stopping the cable insulation from getting cut or chafed against bare metal every time the engine vibrates.

Our catalog record ties this one to gearbox-area figures, showing up under FOOTSTART AND FOOTCHANGE and GEAR CLUSTER listings. That's a bit of an odd home for a contact breaker cable grommet, so treat that as where our records happen to file it rather than a firm statement of where it sits on your particular engine.
The older alias 41-715 is just the same part number written without the leading zero, common in older parts books. If you're chasing this down from an old catalog page, both numbers point to the same grommet.
